Businessmed organized with the support of Invest in Med programme and in collaboration  with GTZ and CNFCE-UTICA, a Mediterranean forum on the theme “Create new opportunities for Women within the Mediterranean” on February 24th/25th, 2010 in Tunis.

TUSIAD's newly elected Board of Directors members held a meeting amongst themselves following the 40th General Assembly that took place on 21st January 2010.

The inaugural meeting of the new Board of Directors elected by the General Assembly appointed Mrs Umit Boyner as President of the Board of Directors, with Haluk Dinçer and Tayfun Bayazıt appointed as Vice Presidents.

Mrs Boyner took over the presidency from Mrs Arzuhan DOGAN YALÇINDAG.

BUSINESSMED, (the Mediterranean Union of the Confederations of Enterprises), participated in the 1st edition of the franchise conference “Tunis-Med Franchise”  from the 10th to the 12th December in Tunis.This event was organized by the Chamber of commerce of industry of Tunis (CCIT) in collaboration with the Association of the chambers of commerce of the Mediterranean (ASCAME) and took place in the premises of the Tunisian Union of industry, trade and handicraft (UTICA). 
 

The MedAlliance consortium (ANIMA, ASCAME, BusinessMed and EUROCHAMBRES) organized the MedAdvocacy event  in Brussels, on December 2nd & 3rd 2009 . This event included:

• A lunch with European Parliamentarians,
• High Level Meetings with the Commissioners,
• Parallel meetings with various DGs in the EU Commission,
• A press conference and
• A Conference on the 3rd of December at Centre Borschette

The 3rd Mediterranean week of the Economic Leaders was held in Barcelona from 2-6 November 2009. Organized by ASCAME, Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and supported by Invest In Med program, the economic week of Barcelona was the best way for the key Mediterranean economic development actors to meet each other.

On the occasion of the 3rd Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders(Barcelona, November 2-6, 2009), ANIMA/Invest in Med highlighted the significant role of Spain as emittor of foreign investment (FDI) towards the Southern rim of the Mediterranean: more than 12 billion in FDI over 7 years and approximately 67,000 direct jobs announced.
