Mediterranean, Mediterranean ! We are all Mediterranean!

The economy has made the European Union and the Mediterranean enterprises will make the Union for the Mediterranean.
The various annual events organised by BUSINESSMED have certainly been a preparation for the advent of the Union for the Mediterranean. These events present meetings between the different actors from the economic sphere and the business community and are a platform where the exchanged and shared views and opinions have influenced the economic policies of our countries.
Accordingly, we should seize the opportunity to better understand one another and have better relations in the interest of all of us around the Mediterranean, this Mare Nostrum which should not be a sea for transit but rather for meetings. This is also an opportunity to think together our future, the future of our enterprises, the future of our countries which depend on the enterprises and the future of our Region on which we depend more and more all of us.
South-Mediterranean countries should be persuaded that there could occurr no true progress only when all, the peoples around the Mediterranean, would be able to evolve within the framework of a common market. This is the only way towards an efficient and successful globalisation which necessarily calls for full economic integration to Europe.
The Union for the Mediterranean, logical continuation of the Barcelona Process which despite and against everything helped to build the foundations of Euro-Mediterranean co-operation, must guarantee in the first place the economic coherence in the Region by allowing all of the parties their appropriate places in this new environment rebuilt around the Mediterranean.
