The 3rd Mediterranean week of the Economic Leaders was held in Barcelona from 2-6 November 2009. Organized by ASCAME, Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and supported by Invest In Med program, the economic week of Barcelona was the best way for the key Mediterranean economic development actors to meet each other.

On the occasion of the 3rd Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders(Barcelona, November 2-6, 2009), ANIMA/Invest in Med highlighted the significant role of Spain as emittor of foreign investment (FDI) towards the Southern rim of the Mediterranean: more than 12 billion in FDI over 7 years and approximately 67,000 direct jobs announced.

Following the previous edition, the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur Region, the Marseille Provence Métropole Urban Community, the City of Marseille, the Euroméditerranean Urban Development Agency, the Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and the Invest in Med European co-funded programme organized this year, the third edition of the Mediterranean Economic Week in Marseille, France - 7 to 10 October 2009.

Businessmed (the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises) represented by Mr Galal El Zorba (Chairman) participated in The “1st Euro-Mediterranean Conference & Exhibition on Donor Funding, Banking and Novel Financial Instruments” which took place at the Nile Hotel in Cairo, on September 30th and October 1st 2009.

During the opening ceremony of Meda Finance which took place on September 30th in Cairo, Mr Galal El Zorba, President of Businessmed granted the Award “Blue of the Mediterranean” to:
